In 2016, Italian paper manufacturer Fabriano challenged Central Saint Martins Foundation students studying Graphic Communication Design to create illustrations responding to the theme of ‘Made In Italy’.
All 120 Foundation Graphic Communication Design students initially participated, ten students were then shortlisted. These ten had the opportunity to translate their work into woodcut prints by taking part in a series of intensive workshops led by CSM Foundation Tutor Umberto Giovannini.
After submission of the finished prints, a panel of judges from the Fabriano marketing team selected four winning students and awarded them each a year’s supply of sketchbooks.
